Socks and Stuff
Katie cleaned out her stash and sent stuff along to her readers in exchange for things from their own stash, which I thought was a very good idea. I received this Knit Picks sock yarn, which isn't enough to make adult socks but will be plenty for baby socks. In exchange, I sent her some fabric I had. Thanks, Katie! I love the yarn, I love the idea, and I hope you love the fabric. I'm going to organize my own stash clean-out soon. (I meant to do it this weekend, but, um, didn't get to it)
These are some baby socks I made for my friends Peggy & Frederic's new baby Constance. They all live in France. I need to get them in the mail soon, before Constance outgrows them! I used leftovers of Lorna's Laces, and the pattern is
Nate of the Fraternal Twins by Megan Humphrey.

If anyone needs to make toddler or baby socks, I've still got enough of the Lorna's Laces I used for the above socks for at least one more pair, maybe two. Let me know if you want it.
SP8 Pressies!
I got a package from my SP8 last weekend! I'm sorry I'm just posting about it now, but I couldn't get the photos to upload from my mom's house. This is a Hello Kitty keychain she made me. I'm so impressed. I can't crochet to save my life.
And here's the whole shebang. Stationery, which she says is typically Swedish, dark chocolate with raspberry, which is delicious, hello kitty stickers, a sparkle pink pen, and Noro! I've been wanting to try Noro since I sent some to my
SP7. My SP8 also sent some patterns with ideas of what to do with the Noro. I think I might go with her suggestion of the armwarmers from
Stitch & Bitch Nation.Thanks, SP8! This package is great!!
Finally! A Finished Object
Oh, look! I know you are excited - it's a finished sock! It is, of course, the world famous
Jaywalker, by Grumperina, from MagKnits. And yes, if you recognized the yarn as the Lorna's Laces I bought at Maryland Sheep & Wool, you'd be correct. I changed my plan of what to do with the yarn, and decided to make these socks for my friend Robin's birthday. Of course, her birthday was May 29, so I'm a wee bit behind. (I already gave her the rest of her presents.) I must say, making socks for an adult is not as fast as making socks for babies. One down, one to go.
If I ever do socks with Lorna's Laces again, I think I will go up a needle size. I'm using US1s. I used the bigger size on the pattern, but I think it might have come out a little better with US2s.

Look what I got in the mail last night! My SP8 made me an iPod case! It's very soft and I really like it. As you can see the color matches my iPod quite well. She also sent me a letter, so I learned that she lives in Sweden and she is the same age as me. Yay! Thank you, SP8! I love it.
I swear, I have been working on several projects, just nothing finished to post about. If I don't finish something this week I'll post a halfway finished project.
